Boston Dance Alliance builds capacity for dance by identifying and creating shared resources, information, and productive partnerships to help dance flourish across the Boston metropolitan area and New England region. We are an independent service organization representing dancers, choreographers, teachers, presenters, allied arts and cultural professionals, arts journalists and scholars, wellness and health providers, and dance enthusiasts brought together across dance genres and geographies. BDA strives to increase cultural equity and access to dance for diverse communities, build dance audiences, and promote quality and sustainability.
The Ruth Birnberg LiNC Fund honors the legacy of BDA's former Executive Director. All donations earmarked for LiNC support programs focused on leveraging BDA's ability to reach a wider community of dancers and choreographers than any single dance complany can do on its own, through innovation, networking, and connecting choreographers to dancers, choreographers to choreographers, and dancers to dance educators.
The Dr. Michael Shannon Fund for Dance supports Boston Dance Alliance with 25% of its funds earmarked for direct support of dance education for underserved city youth in the Boston area.
The Joe Gifford Fund supports BDA’s Annual Dancer Health Day and other dancer wellness initiatives in memory of a man who lived life to its fullest.
